Why get married in a temple?
Temples hold a great significance in Indian culture. Getting married in a temple is part of an ancient tradition that has been going on for centuries. It is a way to preserve the cultural heritage of the family and introduce it to the new generation.A temple is considered a sacred place where gods and goddesses reside. Getting married in such a place blesses the bride and groom with the blessings of the gods and wishes for a happy married life. All religious rituals and customs are performed with full rites during a temple wedding, which gives more sanctity to the marriage. Getting married in a temple is often more economical than today’s weddings. This avoids unnecessary expenses and many people value simplicity and religiosity rather than showiness.
Temple marriages are legally valid under the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955, provided all the necessary conditions are met.
